Power window convenience feature (automatic opening and closing) withexcess force limitation (pinch protection), function
With the introduction of the windows with convenience feature, the window regulators are also equipped with an excess force limitation feature (pinch protection).
Function with ignition switched on Opening
Press and briefly hold the rear part of the respective switch and the window will open fully (automatic window opening)
If the switch is pressed again the window will stop immediately Briefly pressing the switch will open the window
approx. 15mm. (approx. 9/16 in.)
Closing
Press and briefly hold the front part of the respective switch and the window will close fully (automatic window closing).
If the switch is pressed again the window will stop immediately.
Briefly pressing the switch will close the window approx. 15mm. (approx. 9/16 in.)

Function with ignition switched off
The window regulators can be operated for approx. 10 minutes after switching ignition off, as long as the driver's or front passenger's door have not been opened.
Opening
Press and briefly hold the rear part of the respective switch and the window will open fully. The window will not open automatically. If the switch is pressed again, the window will stop immediately.
Closing
Press and hold the front part of the respective switch until the window is closed fully. The window will not close automatically. If the window in the driver's or front passenger's door is stopped because it is tight or due to interference during the closing sequence (force limitation) the window will open immediately. In this case the window can be closed again only after the ignition is switched on.
Note:
After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery the automatic opening and closing function is inoperative. and must be reprogrammed page

Power window convenience feature, over-riding
Requirement
Automatic opening and closing feature functional (programmed)
Ignition switched on
- Close door window with window switch (automatic closing). If the window in the driver's or front passenger's door stopped because it is tight or due to interference during the closing sequence (force limitation) the window will open immediately.
- Operate window switch second time and hold.
Now the window closes as far as the obstruction and stops.
To close the window:
- Press and hold respective window switch third time.
The window closes past the obstruction without the excess force limitation until:
Window switch is released, or Window fully closed is recognized (blocking recognition)

The switch must be operated within 5 seconds of
the window stopping, and without interruption by other functions (lowering, raising automatically).
Ignition switched off
If the window in the driver's or front passenger's door stopped because it is tight or due to
interference during the closing sequence (force limitation) the window will open immediately.
Operations using the interior window switch are now blocked.
If, after opening the window, the ignition is switched on within 1 minute and the switch is
operated to close the windows within 5 seconds, then the procedure is the same as when closing
the windows a second time with the ignition switched on (above).

Automatic closing function, programming
From outside with ignition key in door lock (programming in parallel for all windows)
Windows open (or partially open)
- Close windows until blocking recognition responds with window closed (approx. 1/2 sec.
after window stops)
- Operate key switch in close direction two times for at least 1-1/2 seconds each time.
Windows closed
- Operate key switch in close direction two times for at least 1-1/2 seconds each time.
From inside using window switch (programming each window individually)
Windows open (option 1)
- Operate window switch until window is closed.
- Release switch.
- Operate window switch two times for at least 1/2 second each time.
Windows open (option 2)
- Operate window switch until window is closed.
- Operate switch to open until window is fully open.
- Operate switch to close until window is fully close.
Windows closed
- Operate window switch in close direction for at least 1/2 second.
- Release switch.
- Operate window switch again in close direction for at least 1/2 second.
Note:
The system is programmed by the user during normal operation without realizing that
programming is taking place.
